Property description
Set within pretty secluded gardens, the property presents a rare opportunity for those seeking a home of immense character and charm. The current owner’s tenure has been over the last 24 years and the property has been sympathetically extended and refurbished, with extreme care and attention to detail, the result of which is a family home that combines period character, with the convenience of modern day living. The accommodation is arranged to provide living space that is equally suited to both family life and entertaining, with five reception rooms offering options for relaxation, and a stunning air-conditioned Tom Howley kitchen/breakfast room, installed last year and fitted with Sub Zero and Wolf appliances.
On the first floor is a sumptuous principal suite comprising a spacious bedroom with air-conditioning, an en suite bathroom and a fitted dressing room. There are five further bedrooms on this level (two en suite and one presently being utilised as a dressing room), in addition to a family bathroom and a family shower room.
There is ancillary accommodation in the form of an apartment above the triple garage, offering an opportunity for inter-generational living, or for guest/staff accommodation.
A pool complex contains a swimming pool with a separate hot tub recess, a sauna and a changing/shower room.
A detached building houses a gym with air conditioning, wooden flooring and mirrored wall, therefore providing excellent space as a studio if required. There is also a shower room and a cloakroom.
Positioned to the rear of the plot is a home office/games room with a kitchenett and cloakroom, and an adjoining garden/machine store with cloakroom and utility room.
The property is accessed via double wrought-iron security gates, opening onto a sweeping gravelled driveway. The beautifully maintained gardens are undoubtedly a key feature of the property, enclosed by mature shrubs and trees to provide seclusion and privacy, and surrounding the property on all sides. Immaculate lawns extend from the sun terrace down to the pond, and a note of interest is that Fox Hollow was originally a world-class heather nursery. The gardens now showcase a variety of mature shrubs, specimen trees, flowering plants and herbaceous beds, and are enhanced by various areas designed and planted to create ‘year round’ interest. In all, the gardens extend to about 2.25 acres.
