EweMove Sales & Lettings are delighted to offer this delightful two-bedroom retirement apartment to rent, situated within the sought-after Guessens Court development on the west side of Welwyn Garden City. Available for a long-term let if required, this bright and welcoming property provides comfortable, independent living within a friendly and sociable community, ideally located just 0.5 miles from Welwyn Garden City town centre and the mainline railway station.
Guessens Court is exclusively for residents aged 60 and over who are fully independent. Please note that this is not an assisted-living or care development, and applicants must be able to live independently. As part of the application process, prospective tenants will be invited to meet the friendly on-site development manager to ensure the development is suitable for their needs.
The apartment itself has a lovely bright and airy feel and benefits from a south-facing aspect, with peaceful views over the beautifully maintained communal gardens. The property offers two bedrooms, with the main bedroom benefiting from a fitted wardrobe with mirrored sliding doors. The second bedroom is a single room, making it ideal for visiting guests, a study or home office, and both bedrooms enjoy views over the attractive communal gardens, which are south-facing and provide a wonderful setting with an abundance of wildlife.
The open-plan kitchen and lounge provides a comfortable and welcoming living space with a warm, cosy feel. The kitchen is well equipped with a Beko electric oven, separate fridge-freezer and plenty of worktop and cupboard space, whilst the lounge enjoys lovely views over the communal gardens and benefits from a newly purchased electric reclining sofa, providing a particularly comfortable place to relax.
The bathroom has been thoughtfully adapted, with the original bath removed and replaced with a full-length shower, making the room much easier to manoeuvre. The shower area also benefits from two handrails and a fold-down seat, providing additional practicality and convenience whilst retaining a comfortable and pleasant space.
Guessens Court itself offers a welcoming community atmosphere, with an on-site development manager who regularly arranges coffee mornings and social events, providing residents with opportunities to meet, socialise and get to know their neighbours. The communal lounge is a popular space where residents can enjoy a coffee, have a chat, attend organised activities or even get together to complete a puzzle. The development provides an excellent opportunity for those who value their independence but also enjoy having a friendly community around them.
Residents also have use of the communal laundry room, with use covered as part of the service charge, providing additional convenience. There is also a guest room available for family and friends, which can be booked in advance, subject to availability, making it particularly useful when relatives or friends come to stay.
Parking is available within the development, although vehicles are required to display the appropriate parking permit.
The location is another major benefit, with Guessens Court situated approximately 0.5 miles from Welwyn Garden City town centre and the mainline railway station, providing easy access to local shops, cafés, restaurants and transport links. A doctors' surgery and St Francis of Assisi Church are also within walking distance, making the property particularly convenient for everyday life.
This is a lovely opportunity to rent a comfortable and well-positioned retirement apartment within a friendly, sociable and independent community. With its south-facing aspect, peaceful garden views, two bedrooms, adapted bathroom, comfortable open-plan living space, communal facilities and excellent location, Guessens Court offers a wonderful combination of independence, convenience and companionship.
