Property description
A Beautifully Refurbished Period Home with Character
Welcome to this extensively refurbished three-bedroom period home, which has been thoughtfully updated while retaining plenty of its original character and charm. With over 150 years of history, the property features a wonderful mix of period details and fireplaces from different eras, now complemented by modern conveniences and a fresh new lease of life.
From the tasteful new red front door, you enter a welcoming hallway with stairs leading to the first floor. To the left is the front reception room, where a large bay window fills the space with natural light. Original cornicing, a decorative ceiling rose and plaster moldings add to the period feel, while a striking 1930s fireplace provides a real focal point. The fireplace is decorative and not open for use. With brand-new carpets, this is a cosy and inviting room for relaxing or enjoying a film.
To the rear, the second reception room provides a practical and versatile extension to the living space and kitchen. Finished with brand-new LVT flooring, it offers an excellent space for everyday family life and entertaining. A large rear window brings in plenty of light, while another decorative, non-working fireplace and original paneled wall add further character. Two useful cupboards provide additional storage, with one housing the utilities and another containing the washing machine.
From here, you enter the brand-new kitchen, which is a real highlight of the home. Shaker-style cabinetry is complemented by an integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer and electric hob and oven. A breakfast bar provides the perfect spot for a morning coffee or a quick bite to eat.
Beyond the kitchen is the generous four-piece bathroom, complete with a large walk-in shower, bath and vanity unit. The brand-new gas central heating combi boiler is also housed within this room.
Outside, the rear yard has been designed with low maintenance in mind, combining gravel and patio areas. A large wooden shed provides useful additional storage, while rear access onto a pathway makes it particularly convenient for bringing bikes through or taking out bins.
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms: two generous doubles and a smaller double or single bedroom. All three bedrooms benefit from brand-new carpets, freshly painted walls, new double glazing and upgraded insulation.
The principal bedroom is positioned at the front of the property and features another period fireplace, along with direct access to the first-floor WC.
Overall, this is a well-proportioned period home that has undergone an extensive programme of refurbishment, combining original character with a fresh, modern finish. Ready to welcome its next occupants, this is a home that offers plenty of space, character and practicality.
