Property description
Built in 1856, this three-storey Victorian townhouse sits in North Shields- Camp Terrace Conservation Area, directly opposite Grade II listed Christ Church. It offers three double bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen, a downstairs WC and a newly fitted bathroom, across about 1,297 sq ft. The house combines period character (high ceilings, cornicing and a cast-iron fireplace) with recent updates: new sash windows, a new roof, new bathroom and gas central heating. It is offered semi-furnished and available from January 2027.
On the ground floor, a tiled entrance hall leads to a large lounge with a ceiling rose, a shuttered sash window and fitted alcove shelving. At the rear, the kitchen has shaker units and a range cooker with a five-burner gas hob. Beyond it, there-s space for an American-style fridge freezer, a downstairs WC and access to the back yard. The front of the house faces east, so on clear mornings the sun rises over the church across the road.
Upstairs, the master bedroom overlooks the church and has space for large wardrobes and a shuttered sash window. The second double bedroom faces the rear and suits a child-s room or home office. The bathroom has a freestanding bath, a walk-in rainfall shower and a terrazzo floor. The top floor is a bright loft room with exposed beams and a Velux window. Outside, a gated front terrace catches the morning sun, and the enclosed west-facing rear yard is a sun trap in the warmer months.
North Shields Metro is a 5-minute walk, with direct trains to Newcastle and along the coast. Tynemouth Village, with its Priory, market, cafés and restaurants, is 15–20 minutes on foot. Longsands and King Edward-s Bay beaches are within walking distance, and the Fish Quay-s seafood restaurants, bars and live music are close by. It-s a well-connected home for anyone looking to embrace the North East coastal life.
