Chips
Chips isn't your average building. It's a bit of a one off and is one of the most significant buildings in New Islington, Manchester's Millennium Community. Chips is in New Islington, Manchester's Millennium Community which is located to the east of the city centre, in Ancoats. New Islington is a short walk from the city centre and is conveniently located next to the inner ring road, with excellent links to the surrounding motorway network. Piccadilly train station is nearby and New Islington will soon be serviced by its own new Metrolink stop. The area is also served by buses and is connected to the surrounding canal towpath network; the Ashton Canal towpath provides a convenient link to the city for both cyclists and pedestrians.

The good news is that it's available to a really broad audience, the main criteria being that:
- You/your household has an annual income of less than £60,000 (Let's face it, who doesn't!)
- You are in full time employment
- You currently own no other properties
I want to rent now while I save for a deposit
If you would like to own your own home but don't have enough deposit saved, you can rent your home for up to five years through the Rent to HomeBuy scheme at 80% of market rent, allowing you to save for your deposit whilst you enjoy living in your home. You can move into home ownership at any point during the five year period.
Shared ownership now available in Manchester
If you are in a position to purchase now, you could buy your home through Shared ownership, a government backed initiative funded by the HCA, to help you get your foot on the housing ladder. It allows you to purchase an affordable share in your own home, ranging from 25% - 75%, with the option to buy additional shares in the future taking you into 100% outright ownership.
