Property description
Set on a handsome street moments from Portobello Market, this considered maisonette embodies the essence of its manicured exterior. Past a private entrance on the raised ground floor, crittall-style doors introduce the open-plan dining and reception room – an uplifting space where light moves freely. A dark fireplace punctuates crisp white walls, while a sculptural chandelier above provides the ambiance come evening. Tucked off the living area, a rear facing office provides an undisturbed space for work or contemplation.
Ted Todd parquet flooring ties together the home’s statement space – an Italian marble kitchen where sophistication reigns supreme. Expect Devol brassware, Miele appliances and thoughtful finishing touches. A wall of steel-framed glazing extends above and out, inviting sunlight and access to the patio balcony. From here, descend steps to a secluded enclosed lawn.
Across the lower level, three bedrooms are dedicated to rest and relaxation. The principal suite is a study in quiet luxury, paying subtle homage to the home’s history. South-facing French doors invite natural light in, and give way to a private patio. A wall of bespoke joinery conceals the entrance to the en suite, where striking marble surfaces frame a dual vanity and bathtub.
Two additional bedrooms are serene and understated, their neutral tones and soft lighting fostering a tranquil atmosphere. A family bathroom pairs a generous walk-in shower with Waterworks brassware.
