A truly exceptional and architecturally distinctive apartment approximately 2,820 sq ft of beautifully arranged internal space and an outstanding private terrace.
Burlington Lodge Studios is a prestigious gated development of converted Victorian buildings. It was converted into homes in 1980 having previously been a brewery and was actually built as a 19th century women’s prison. Known as the Fulham Convict Prison, one of its inmates was Constance Kent whose story went on to inspire the 2008 novel 'The Suspicions of Mr Whicher', more recently a TV series.
This unique home, set within an attractive converted building, combines contemporary design with striking industrial features, including impressive ceiling heights, large Crittall-style windows and an abundance of natural light throughout.
The heart of the home is the impressive double-height reception area, offering an exceptional space for both everyday living and entertaining. Overlooking this is a generous mezzanine level, currently arranged as a home office, providing highly flexible additional accommodation.
Leading off the main reception room is a spacious family bathroom and separate utility area. The reception space flows seamlessly into a sleek, contemporary kitchen, complete with a central island, alongside a further bathroom.
The ground floor also benefits from a well-proportioned principal bedroom and a generous entrance hall.
On the first floor, there are two further bedrooms which lead directly onto one of the property’s standout features: an impressive 40 ft private roof terrace.
This expansive terrace provides a rare and highly desirable outdoor entertaining space, seldom found in this part of London.
The property also enjoys access to a charming courtyard setting, adding to its quiet and secluded feel.
Burlington Lodge Studios is conveniently located between New King's Road and Fulham Road in a quiet location and within close proximity to both Parsons Green and Putney Bridge underground stations (District Line). All the excellent shops bars and restaurants, as well as numerous nurseries and primary schools are also close by as is the world renowned Hurlingham Club.
