Property description
Spectacular, unique and steeped in history, over 1,600 square feet, two bedroom and two/three bathroom, apartment located in the Royal Military Academy overlooking the cricket field within the gated community.
The Royal Military Academy was established in 1741 to train officers for the Royal Artillery and Royal Engineers regiments in the British Army. Many famous officers were trained at the facility including Churchill and Kitchener.
The development is a collection of Grade II listed buildings which have been carefully refurbished to create a mix of apartments, duplexes and town houses, within the retained structures. The work has been completed in collaboration with English Heritage so nothing of importance is lost and a unique community is created. The refurbishment works started in 2008 with final stages completing in 2019.
A beautiful park and arguably the oldest cricket pitch in England was restored and sits proudly in front of the development overlooking castle like structures of the Academy.
The apartment itself overlooks the cricket pitch creating an environment of a countryside whilst moments away from the hustle and bustle of urban Woolwich. To the front of this imposing building and at the entrance to the apartment is a vast gravelled communal space where residents during the summer take their deck chairs out and enjoy the outdoor living and numerous cricket matches just outside their doorstep.
Interior of the apartment is simply divine with double aspect windows allowing light to come through to every corner of 1,631 square foot. This property has been designed and finished with style and function in mind where 4.8 meter ceilings allowed a unique environment to be created. The space comprises of; a spacious mezzanine bedroom and bathroom, a further WC to the ground level with a utility room to the back, spacious kitchen area which acts as a focal point and opens up to a living area which enjoys double height ceilings and a stunning fireplace, a beautifully crafted library is set against one wall which is seeped in history and is listed. A further decadent bathroom is entered via double doors of the living space and guides you into the master bedroom via a magnificent spiral staircase.
The Royal Military Academy development is gated with 24 hour security and concierge.
Woolwich Arsenal DLR station offers easy access into Canary Wharf and Bank. Woolwich also benefits from the new Elizabeth Line, providing easy access into London, including Liverpool Street, Paddington and Bond Street.
