Light-filled, beautifully kept and set on a leafy Stroud Green street, this first-floor one bedroom flat makes a brilliant first London home or an easy, grown-up base for city living. Every room is a generous size, with both the reception and bedroom stretching over 14ft. Wide windows look out into the treetops, giving the whole flat a calm, bright feel that's lovely to come home to. Add a separate kitchen, plenty of built-in storage and communal gardens behind the block and you have a home that's as practical as it is pleasant. Then there's the location: a short stroll to the pubs, cafés and restaurants of Stroud Green Road and Crouch Hill, with two stations within easy walking distance.
The reception room is a lovely, sociable space, with room for a full-size sofa and armchairs as well as a proper desk for working from home. A wide picture window looks straight into the branches of the street trees, giving you a soft green outlook through the summer months and plenty of daylight all year round. Light oak-effect laminate flooring runs through the living spaces, keeping everything fresh and easy to look after.
The kitchen is a separate room, which is ideal if you'd rather keep cooking and relaxing apart. Glossy white cabinetry with long brushed-steel bar handles wraps around two walls, set against a dark speckled worktop and a warm sandstone-effect tiled splashback, while frosted-glass wall cabinets add a lighter touch. There's a stainless steel built-in oven with a gas hob and sleek chimney extractor above, plus an Indesit washing machine and dishwasher already in place. Pale stone-effect floor tiles and a bank of windows over the sink keep the room bright, so even the washing up comes with a view.
The bedroom is a comfortable double with room for a king-size bed, a full-height wardrobe and a chest of drawers besides. Like the living room, it looks out over the trees, which makes for calm and gentle mornings.
The bathroom is crisp and clean, finished in white wall tiles with contrasting slate-grey floor tiles. It comes with a full-size bath, a wall-hung basin with a chrome towel bar, a close-coupled WC and a chrome heated towel rail, along with a mirrored cabinet for all your bits and pieces. A frosted window keeps it airy yet private.
Storage is a real strength here, with built-in cupboards in the hallway and kitchen plus a separate cupboard by the front door for coats, cases and the hoover. Out back, the communal gardens offer lawns, picnic benches and a fenced children's play area – a pleasant spot for lunch in the sun.
