Property description
Set within Haybridge House, a former toy factory on Mount Pleasant Hill in Upper Clapton, this exceptionally spacious one-bedroom apartment offers expansive loft living with a substantial mezzanine level. The development’s industrial heritage provides a distinctive setting, combining warehouse character with a convenient Hackney location close to the River Lea and surrounding green spaces.
The main living level opens into an impressive reception space, with generous ceiling heights, large windows and pale timber flooring creating a bright, airy feel. Its substantial proportions allow for clearly defined lounging and dining areas while retaining an open, sociable layout. The kitchen sits alongside the living space, featuring white cabinetry, timber worktops, a built-in oven and gas hob, with an open connection to the dining area.
A staircase leads to the unusually generous mezzanine, where the bedroom accommodation is complemented by ample space for a study, reading area or creative workspace. Overlooking the reception below, this upper level adds another dimension to the apartment’s scale, with rooflights and white-painted structural features continuing the loft aesthetic. The bathroom features a bath, separate shower enclosure and glass-block detailing, bringing additional light into the space.
Clapton Overground station is within easy walking distance, offering direct Weaver line services to Liverpool Street and convenient onward connections to the Underground and Elizabeth line. Nearby bus services provide further options for travelling across Hackney and towards Stoke Newington and Manor House, making the location well connected for both commuting and exploring London.
Upper Clapton offers a lively neighbourhood atmosphere, with independent cafés, restaurants and local shops alongside easy access to outdoor space. Springfield Park, the River Lea towpaths and Hackney Marshes provide opportunities for walking, cycling and enjoying the waterside, while nearby Stoke Newington Church Street adds a wider choice of places to eat, shop and spend the weekend.
