Property description
The property occupies a beautiful location surrounded by breath-taking landscape where rolling hills and the Howgill Fells meet a vast sky. There are two renowned pubs, an art gallery, a shop, primary school, village tennis court, 9-hole golf course, and a church. Lovers of wildlife will enjoy feeding the red squirrels, the sound of curlews and the sight of hares boxing, as well as nesting swans, geese and oyster catchers.
Row Foot shares its setting with two other dwellings positioned around an extensive gravelled courtyard and approached by a long tarmacadam driveway from a country road.
Ravenstonedale is a charming village with a thriving community. The property occupies a beautiful and peaceful location with walks on the fells directly from the Boot room door. The village is well-placed for commuting to nearby Kendal, 30 mins., Penrith, 35 mins., Kirkby Stephen, 10 mins., Sedbergh, and the famous Independent Sedbergh School, 20 mins.
Rail access: Row Foot Farm is just 6-minutes’ drive from Kirkby Stephen railway station, (free parking), with links on the Carlisle Settle Line to Leeds and the East Coast trains to London, or a 30-minute drive to Kendal’s Oxenholme station for the fast West Coast Line to London.
On one side of the house is a cobbled forecourt and beyond it an extensive gravelled yard/driveway [subject to a right of way in favour of Low Thackthwaite] with ample room for the parking of several motor vehicles.
To the rear of the house is a large garden laid with an extensive lawn, a delightful patio and wide herbaceous border. Attached wood store.
To the side of the house is a long strip of land, this does not belong to the property but has a public footpath running along its length and which leads to a beautiful common with a lake [in separate ownership] known locally as "Paradise". The strip of land known as the "Tongue" includes a pond, an area of recently planted trees and composting areas.
Offering spacious and versatile accommodation with 4/5 bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, studio and dining kitchen. Good-sized garden, wood store and extensive parking. Beautiful peaceful location surrounded by breathtaking lanscape, but not isolated. The owners may be willing to consider removing some items of furniture, if required.
