LOCALAREAINFORMATION Brampton is a village in Cambridgeshire approx. 2 miles (3km) south-west of Huntingdon and lies with the Huntingdonshire district.
Brampton has associations with the diarist Samuel Pepys. Legend has it that his fortune is buried somewhere in the village and that he was known to have stayed at the Black Bull Inn in the village.
For nature lovers there is Brampton Wood, Hinchingbrooke Country Park and Portholme, which is the UK's largest meadow within the parish.
