Property description
The GateLodge is a one-of-a-kind, two-bedroom, unfurnished detached coach house, idyllically situated on the corner of a quiet street with stunning views over the Pentland Hills. Private garden and garage included. Available now!
This beautiful property is truly a must-see, and an early viewing is highly recommended. The kitchen is spacious, with a family-style island including plenty of storage for utensils, and an open dining area with French doors looking out onto the private, enclosed garden area. The property throughout has special features such as mixed double glazing and skylights to allow for natural light to flood through the home, as well as charming stone feature walls.
The lounge includes luxurious high ceilings, with wooden flooring to give almost a 'chalet' feel, boasting a mezzanine floor to the upper level, acting perfectly as a snug or office space.
Just off the lounge, you will find a modern-style conservatory with folding doors allowing direct access to the garden and garage area. This sun trap will soak up warmth all year long and is perfect for unwinding in the evening. There is a family bathroom with an electric shower and corner bath on the ground floor, and both bedrooms feature ensuite shower rooms, built-in closet space and ample room for double beds. The upper bedroom features a Juliet balcony with stunning views overlooking the Pentland Hills, giving a country feel.
The garden is mature, with decking space for al-fresco dining to be enjoyed in the summertime. The garage is accessible from the garden via a side door but also from the main road via the garage door itself.
The property is ideal for a couple who work from home or those who enjoy hosting friends and family. The property would also suit a young family or those looking to downsize.
The location itself is very picturesque, with a rural feel whilst being situated only a 20-minute drive from Edinburgh City Centre. The property is also a short walk from Lanark Road, which includes regular bus routes in and out of the city centre. The location has several beauty spots nearby, with the Water of Leith Walkway being accessible on foot and the Pentland Hills, including Hillend Ski Centre and its popular Alpine Roller Coaster. Heriott-Watt University is also only a short drive away, as is Napier's Craiglockart Campus. The prestigious George Watson's College is also under a 15-minute drive away and local primary and high schools include St Cuthbert's RC Primary School, Craiglockhart Primary School, St Augustine's RC Primary School and Tynecastle High School.
There is an Asda, Sainsbury's, and Tesco superstore all within a 10-minute drive from the property.
