Property description
This charming historic cottage has been completely refurbished to an impeccable standard, combining original character with a stylish contemporary finish.
The ground floor features wooden flooring throughout, exposed stone walls and a wood burner, along with a modern fitted kitchen with integrated appliances and useful larder storage. There is also a downstairs WC and utility room, while double doors from the kitchen open onto a sunny terrace and lawned garden.
Upstairs are two good sized bedrooms and a modern bathroom with a roll-top bath.
Originally built by local quarry owner Thomas Strong, the cottage is believed to date from 1836 and is one of the earliest surviving quarrymen`s cottages in the parish. Set on Box Hill, it is set in a peaceful position above the main village.
Box village is nearby, offering cafés, a convenience shop, primary school, nursery and doctors` surgery, with Bath and Corsham also within easy reach. Box Hill Common and Quarry Woods provide excellent opportunities for walking and exploring, while the very popular public house, Quarryman`s Arms, is a stroll away.
The property also benefits from a nearby bus stop and has two allocated parking spaces, making it an ideal countryside retreat with excellent access to surrounding towns, villages and attractions.
Viewing in person highly recommended.
