Cross House East is a truly stunning period property situated in the heart of Corbridge, one of the Tyne Valley’s most popular and iconic villages. Arranged over three floors, the property boasts an abundance of original features and timeless period charm, creating a beautiful and characterful family home.
Mature gardens to the front provide a welcoming approach to the property, with a solid timber entrance door opening into the entrance hall. The principal reception rooms are positioned to either side of the entrance hall, both enjoying a wonderful sense of character. The sitting room features a wood-burning stove set within a traditional fireplace, wooden flooring and a sash window overlooking the front garden. The dining room is equally impressive, with extensive shelving and a magnificent open fire set within a striking stone surround, forming the focal point of the room.
The period charm continues into the kitchen, which features an attractive beamed ceiling, Shaker-style cabinetry and a range-style cooker set within a characterful inglenook. A separate utility room provides additional practicality, while a secondary staircase offers convenient access to the first floor. A ground-floor shower room, fitted with a wash hand basin and WC, completes the accommodation on this level.
The original staircase leads to the first floor, where three bedrooms and the family bathroom are arranged. The principal bedroom is generously proportioned and features a decorative fireplace, wooden flooring and built-in storage. Steps lead from this room to a further versatile space, ideally suited for use as a home office, dressing room or nursery. This additional room can also be accessed via the secondary staircase from the kitchen.
A further double bedroom is located on the first floor, with two additional double bedrooms occupying the second floor, providing flexible accommodation for family living or visiting guests.
The family bathroom is situated to the rear of the property, accessed via a staircase from the landing. Well appointed with traditional-style fittings, the bathroom comprises a beautiful roll-top bath, separate shower, WC and wash hand basin.
Please note that the loft area is excluded from the tenancy.
Externally, an enclosed courtyard lies to the rear of the property, with pedestrian access from the side. A number of attractive stone-built outbuildings provide useful additional storage or potential workshop space.
The gardens are a particular highlight of Cross House East. A generous lawn is complemented by well-established fruit trees, mature flower beds and vegetable patches, creating a delightful outdoor space that perfectly complements the character and charm of this exceptional period home.
