Otterton is a charming traditional East Devon village which has grown up over the centuries along side the River Otter. Explore the many footpaths in the area such as along the River Otter, the coastal path following the Jurassic coastline or inland. It is just a few minutes almost level walk to the local pub, village community shop, an even shorter distance to the bus stop. Next to the river there is the delightful Otterton Mill dating back over 1000 years, for fresh bread or coffee. The river estuary has recently been the subject of an extensive makeover now making it a tidal nature reserve and reducing the risk of flooding. Locations nearby include Bicton Botanical Gardens, Woodbury Park, Budleigh Salterton cricket pavilion and the tennis / bowls centre. There are sandy beaches at Exmouth and shingle / pebble beaches at Ladram Bay, Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton. Exeter (the 4th most popular city in the UK ) is about 25 minutes away by car. On the way to the city is Exeter airport and the junction for the M5 motorway.
