Property description
A Distinctive Two-Bedroom Mews House | Grade II Listed Conversion |
Description
A truly exceptional two-bedroom mews house, set within a distinguished Grade II listed Victorian building with a fascinating automotive heritage. Believed to date from circa 1898 and designed by renowned architects Drake & Pizey, the building is understood to be one of the country’s earliest purpose-built automobile garages and was sympathetically converted into an exclusive collection of contemporary residences in 2015.
Combining striking period architecture with sophisticated modern interiors, this unique home offers an impressive balance of character, volume and contemporary luxury.
The building’s original garage entrance has been transformed with dramatic floor-to-ceiling glazing and elegant French doors. A second secure communal entrance, complete with intercom entry system, provides additional access to the development.
Upon entering, the scale and sense of space immediately impress. The heart of the home is an extraordinary open-plan kitchen, living and dining space, creating an exceptional setting for both entertaining and everyday living. Finished in a sophisticated palette of charcoal and white, the room features engineered timber flooring with underfloor heating, electronically controlled mood lighting and comprehensive wiring designed to accommodate an extensive home entertainment system.
The contemporary kitchen is beautifully appointed with Silestone work surfaces, reflective mirrored splashbacks and a comprehensive range of high-quality integrated appliances, creating a sleek yet highly practical environment.
A separate utility room provides valuable additional WC and storage. It also incorporates an integrated wine fridge, while a stylish downstairs cloakroom completes the ground floor.
A particularly striking glass and oak staircase rises to a galleried first-floor landing, creating an impressive architectural focal point and allowing light to flow throughout the property.
The first floor provides two generously proportioned double bedrooms. The principal bedroom benefits from its own contemporary en-suite bathroom, while the second double bedroom also enjoys a stylish en-suite, providing an excellent level of privacy and convenience for residents and guests alike.
Residents can also take advantage of the Clifton East Residents’ Parking Zone.
