Property Reference: 2956123.
Private Retreat / Snug available! The cosy bedroom includes more than the bedroom space, you’ll have a lockable cupboard for storage ( size of a small wardrobe ), outdoor space and a safe place to store a bike if needed.
What makes this property truly unique is that it is the landlord’s own home, which has undergone extensive restoration and redecoration to achieve a stylish modern-Victorian feel. It feels like a genuine home rather than a standard rental.
The household is quiet and low-key—the only other occupants are the landlord and a professional tenant on the top floor. Everyone maintains busy individual schedules ("ships in the night"), so privacy and quiet are fully respected. Please note:We maintain exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home, and we ask that prospective tenants share this mindset, uncleanliness will not be tolerated whatsoever.
Amenities & Included Bills
Rent includes all major utilities and services:
Council Tax
Gas & Electricity
Water
High-Speed Fibre Broadband
Note on Media: TV Licensing is the tenant's responsibility if watching live broadcasts or streaming services requiring a license. Due to the age and heritage of the building, no aerials or satellite dishes (such as Sky) are installed or permitted. All entertainment relies on high-speed Wi-Fi.
Pets: The landlord occasionally brings his dog to the house—Shadow, an exceptionally friendly and gentle 12-year-old Siberian Husky who spends most of his time out on long walks and hikes with the upstairs tenant.
Shared Items & House Respect
You will have dedicated fridge/freezer space. Whilst you will have access to shared appliances (kettle, toaster, microwave, and washing machine). We ask all housemates to treat shared items with care, keep appliances clean, and take immediate responsibility if anything is accidentally damaged, replacement of a glass kettle with a charity shop £1 white kettle isn’t called replacement, like for like is required but... Open communication is key—if something breaks, simply let the landlord know so it can be resolved without fuss, I don’t bite.
Security & Safety
For the safety and peace of mind of everyone living here, external areas and the main entry hallway are monitored by CCTV.
The only reason why we use cctv is due to previous events many years ago that involved students attempting to break into the property. Please note this doesn’t happen all the time and was a one time exception but it lead to the landlord having to take action with security.
Viewing Process & Applicant Requirements
To arrange a viewing, either the landlord or a current resident will be at home, but we issue a secure 1-hour digital door PIN for access so you can tour the space comfortably without being followed around.
Before a viewing PIN can be generated, the following verification documents must be emailed directly to us and the OpenRent team for security compliance:
