The Rent
The agreed rent for a property. A refundable holding deposit
To secure the property and initiate referencing, a payment equivalent to one week's rent must be submitted to kkre. The mutually agreed "deadline for agreement" is typically set at 14 days after receiving the holding deposit, unless stated otherwise in writing. It's important to note that this deposit becomes non-refundable under certain circumstances, such as providing false or misleading information, failing a right to rent check, withdrawing from the proposed agreement (opting not to rent), or neglecting to take reasonable steps to finalize the agreement (e.g., not responding to reasonable requests for necessary information). In the event that the tenancy progresses, kkre has the option to either refund the holding deposit directly to you or allocate it towards your rent or security deposit.
If the Landlord withdraws from a proposed tenancy, the deposit will be fully refunded.
A refundable security deposit
Before the commencement of the tenancy, it is necessary to submit a security deposit, which is limited to a maximum of five weeks' rent if the annual rent is below £50,000, or six weeks' rent if the total annual rent surpasses £50,000. This deposit serves as a safeguard for the landlord in case the tenant causes damage to the property, fails to restore it to its original condition, neglects rent payments, or violates the terms outlined in the tenancy agreement.
Payments for Tenancy Agreement changes
